AS lead vocalist on the six millioncopy selling smash hit Save All Your Kisses For Me, Martin Lee's place in Eurovision Song Contest folklore is forever assured.

The Brotherhood of Man star, who fronted the band's stunning victory in 1976 and led the line-up for more than 40 years, has died at the age of 77.

His bandmates, who included his wife, Sandra Stevens, said he suffered heart failure after a short illness.

They added they "cannot imagine a world without Martin Lee".

The group found superstardom when they romped to victory in the Netherlands on 164 points, more than 70 points ahead of second-placed Switzerland.

Having topped the UK singles chart for six weeks the song would go on to hit Nol in more than 30 other countries.
