'GAME CHANGER' ON ASTHMA TREATMENT

A FIRST treatment for chronic asthma in 50 years may be hugely important in preventing deadly attacks, say scientists.

They found injecting benralizumab into those suffering suffocating attacks of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is more effective than current standard care of steroid tablets.

The drug cut the need for further treatment by 30%, the research published in the Lancet showed.
