NEARLY half of Brits say they are likely to ration their energy use this winter, as annual bills rise by up to £161 tomorrow.

Campaigners fear Ofgem's 10% hike in the energy price cap will put the health of the elderly and vulnerable at risk.

To make matters worse, around 10 million pensioners will lose winter fuel payments of up to £300 this year after Labour scrapped it for all but the poorest, to combat a £22billion black hole left by the Tories. But campaigners point out energy giants have made £457bn profit in recent years as millions struggle with bills.
