Crooked HMRC worker faces jail for £200k theft

A CROOKED HMRC worker who swiped almost £200,000 of taxpayers' cash is facing jail.

Joanne Connell, 37, plundered huge sums of money while she was employed in a government department in East Kilbride.

She used details from members of the public to create fake credit notes and then put the money into her own bank account.

Her fraud continued while she was working from home on a workissued laptop.
