BARF THE BATTLE

EMMA RADUCANU claimed her long injury lay-off has made her “tougher” after she revealed she played on despite “throwing up” in her mouth during her Australian Open exit.

The former US Open champion was playing only her fourth match in her comeback from three surgeries last May.

And she needed a medical timeout at 0-2 in the final set to get her blood pressure checked and take tablets before losing 6-4 4-6 6-4 to China’s world No.94 Yafan Wang.

But in her post-match press conference, Raducanu said: “I feel a little bit better. In the third set, all of a sudden I felt so sick, really weak and nauseous. Throughout the third set I think everyone could see it was a bit of a battle.
