Mr Biden, who has Irish roots, made a four-day trip to several parts of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
He said: "I got to go back to Ireland... to make sure they weren't, the Brits didn't screw around and Northern Ireland didn't walk away from their commitments."
He used his visit to say he wants the UK to work more closely with Dublin to help Northern Ireland.
