ATMOSPHERIC, right down to the hole in the Oak Road end roof, the occasion was more memorable than the football itself. 

Under a blood-red sunset, Jarrod Bowen’s third goal in four games sent West Ham towards the Premier League summit at Kenilworth Road.

And when Kurt Zouma headed home James WardProwse’s corner with six minutes left, the party looked like it would fall flat.

But two minutes into the extra five added on, Mads Andersen nodded home Luton’s first Premier League goal and kept things bubbling until the final whistle.

Moments later the ball came off Ward-Prowse’s arm in the Hammers box but VAR decided against a penalty decision and Luton's hopes were finally dashed.
