MAX VERSTAPPEN is blazing a trail of broken records and trophies!

For the second week running the runaway championship leader had his silverware destroyed.

A week after Lando Norris' podium celebrations caused a crack in Hungary, Verstappen saw his Belgian Grand Prix trophy crushed by a member of the Red Bull technical team during a postrace celebration photo.

Verstappen raced away to avoid the champagne chaos, only to turn around and yell, "It is broken again", as he heard the crunch behind him.

The rest of the drivers on the Formula One grid already had their usual Sunday deja vu as the Dutchman stormed through from sixth to move within one win of Sebastian Vettel's all-time mark of nine straight victories.

It left Lewis Hamilton vowing to battle for third in the drivers' championship after the Mercedes driver finished fourth.
