Eriksen's strength of character sets example

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN knows a thing or two about soul-stirring, improbable comebacks.

He learned a good deal about his own strength of character following his cardiac arrest two years ago.

In that context, Manchester United's turnaround here must have felt rather more mundane, although the scorer of the goal that sparked the revival knows that dire circumstances can sometimes be overcome.

"Of course, we were upset after being 2-0 down after four minutes but there was only one way forward, really, after that and it was to let loose and try to go forward," said Eriksen.

"It was a difficult start the game. But in the end, we know what we can do. We have quality on the ball and we know we're going to create chances.

"It's the best feeling when you have the biggest low you can get on the pitch, then you end up being on a high because you've won the game.

But, obviously, you don't want to start every game 2-0 down."
