FIVE MORE HEATWAVES

BRITAIN is set to roast in record-smashing five more summer heatwaves.

After the joint hottest day of the year so far yesterday, forecasters predict temperatures in July and August could beat last year's blistering 40.3C high.

Thermometers hit 32.2C in Coningsby, Lincs, yesterday, equalling the figure in Chertsey, Surrey, on June 10.

But the Met Office also issued thunderstorm warnings for parts of the UK. Potential flooding, damage to buildings and power cuts are listed as possible dangers amid the "wall of rain" deluge shown on a Met Office weather map approaching Britain.
