FLOWING RIVER

IN the Group Two Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes run over the Rowley Mile at Newmarket, GHOSTWRITER (1.50) looks a corking each-way wager at 5-1.

Clive Cox’s juvenile is unbeaten in two starts at Ascot and this track over seven furlongs, but as his dam was a mile-and-a-half winner, he should be seen in an even better light over this longer trip.

All the clock watchers will be on him, as he smashed the timepiece when obliging at the Berkshire venue in his latest romp, and the form was given a boost when the fourth, Military Order, scored at Kempton Park last Friday.

On this Saturday last season TASHKHAN (2.05) was rated 113 when finishing third in the Group One Prix Du Cadran over two and a half miles on his favoured soft terrain in Paris, so he is going to take all the beating in the Watergate Cup Handicap over two and a quarter miles at Chester off a perch of 105. I will have a deep throat roaring home the topweight who always runs his best races as autumn is approaching.
