Barnes keen to face up to Europe's big guns

WINGER Harvey Barnes has insisted Newcastle want to face the "big hitters" in the Champions League.

The new £38m Toon signing says Eddie Howe's stars are prepared for a long season of up to 60 games if they can challenge in all four competitions.

They could end up playing Napoli or Barcelona, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid and summer signing Sandro Tonali's old club AC Milan.

Barnes said: "The club had an incredible year last season. Qualifying for the Champions League is a massive achievement in itself.
