FRANKIE DETTORI triggered a gamble on Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe outsider Free Wind when teaming up with the John and Thady Gosden-trained mare in a Newmarket gallop yesterday.

The five-year-old, second to Warm Heart in the Group One Yorkshire Oaks on the Knavesmire last month, was a 50-1 shot for Europe's middle-distance championship at the start of trading yesterday.

But Free Wind is now a 20-1 chance as the workout triggered speculation she will be the final Arc mount of the Italian's (above) stellar career.
