He's only Garn and silenced 'em

IF ERIK TEN HAG'S aim was to silence the wall of sound from Everton's angry protesters, then Manchester United wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho couldn't have done it better.
He's only Garn and silenced 'em

The winger scored a goal which left everyone inside Goodison Park speechless in just the third minute.

The pure athleticism to run back and find Diogo Dalot's cross with his overhead kick was a goal worthy of winning any game.

As Garnacho (left) put it himself, "Oh my God". Everton fans who had been ready to roar their side on after their points deduction were left dumbfounded.

It put United on their way to their fifth victory in six Premier League games to move four points off the top four.

In the end, it was the first game they've won by more than one goal this season as a Marcus Rashford penalty and what seems now like an obligatory goal against Everton for Anthony Martial saw off the Toffees.

This was Everton's first game since their 10-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules plummeted them into the drop zone.

So it was always going to be a cauldron of noise inside Goodison Park with their fans protesting the severity of the punishment for an accounting error.
