THE heatwave has led to an explosion of "Dracula" horse flies terrorising sunbathers.

As temperatures hit 32C yesterday, the hottest of the year, the blood-sucking bugs are leaving victims with "excruciating" bites. The recent wet, warm weather means the fanged flies are in their element.
