NO two days are ever the same for a vet, with all kinds of sick animals to take care of each day.

The dedicated and compassionate professionals will see everything from limping dogs and vomiting cats to rabbits that have stopped eating and budgies which have become unusually quiet.

While veterinary staff will often receive the same daily concerns from worried owners, each case will vary slightly and may require different treatment.

Siôn Rowlands, from Pantmawr in Cardiff, says: "Vets and nurses become astute investigators and are required to deploy these skills as they navigate each day, week and month, placing the needs and welfare of animals at the forefront of their objectives."

Among routine appointments, such as vaccinations and health check-ups, are unpredictable emergency calls.
