Let's hear it for the Moves

ONE of the greatest qualities in life is to quit while you are ahead.

If David Moyes had ridden off into the sunset last summer after leading West Ham to their first European trophy since 1965 – and their first trophy since 1980 – then he would have gone down as one of the club’s great managers.

Instead, Moyes will leave at the end of this season on the back of fan resentment, complaints about playing style and a lack of appreciation for the outstanding job he has done at the London Stadium.

And therein lies the problem. The outside world are left scratching their heads in disbelief over West Ham’s treatment of Moyes.

Moyes has had two spells at West Ham.
