Morgan Fairchild, who played Chandler Bing's mother in sitcom Friends, described Matt as "terribly brave" for speaking about his addiction to booze and opioids in his 2022 memoir.
The actress, 73, said: "I think one of the bravest things that he did in his career and his life was to go public... to try to be of help to other people.
"And that was one of the most endearing things about him." She added that he was the "funniest" person "but also one of the kindest".
