BETH ENGLAND has given Millie Bright’s captaincy a huge thumbs-up saying she bridges the gap between young and old.
The duo know each other inside out following time spent at Chelsea, before England moved on to pastures new to push her own World Cup dream forward with a switch to Spurs.
Chelsea defender Bright has been a rock for club and country ever since the World Cup in 2019 and, due to Leah Williamson’s injury, she has been forced to step up four years later, this time into the vacant role of skipper.
But England believes Bright is the right fit. She said: “I’ve played football with Millie since we were little – I think we have gone through every single team I’ve been at – apart from Spurs.
