FUTURE Ryder Cup captain Justin Rose is inspired to win back the trophy by the love of his new skipper Luke Donald - and the laughs with his old caddie.
The 2013 US Open winner was snubbed by Colin Montgomerie in 2010 and by Padraig Harrington in 2021 as Europe went down to a record defeat.
But Rose, 43, has been handed a wildcard for the first time by his fellow former world No.1 Donald for the revenge mission in Rome.
"Obviously when it came to Monty, I was incredibly close," Rose recalled.
"I'd probably have been 13th man for Whistling Straits but never got the love, really, from our previous captain.
