BRITS have been urged to protect themselves from psycho dive-bombing seagulls by using hard hats and umbrellas.

New guidelines state workers and homeowners should arm themselves with brollies and headgear in a bid to reduce the chances of injury.

NatureScot in Scotland says employers and property owners should provide anti-gull personal protective equipment. But it warned licences to control bird numbers would only be given if the victims were disabled or "vulnerable" due to working at height.
