Corporation chiefs yesterday announced it had upheld six of 17 allegations she made over his behaviour behind the scenes on the dance contest after a review that took six months.

Sherlock star Amanda, 50, said: "Today's apology from the BBC is a vindication of my complaint.

"It's not just a vindication for me, it's a vindication for the other people who have contacted me to express concerns about their own experiences on Strictly."
