TOTO WOLFF is adamant he remains the right man to lead Mercedes in the postLewis Hamilton era.
But the Austrian (inset) admits he expects Hamilton will land his record eighth world championship at Ferrari.
Mercedes arrived in Monaco on the back of a string of underwhelming results which leave them a distant fourth in the constructors’ championship.
It is a far cry from their unprecedented run at the summit of Formula One, winning eight straight constructors’ titles while carrying Hamilton to six of his seven championships.
And their form since Hamilton lost the 2021 decider to Max Verstappen has put Wolff’s future in the spotlight.
“I have always been very self-critical,” said Wolff. “Is this what I am good at? Am I working in something I understand and I feel I can contribute?
