JULEN LOPETEGUI says there should be no limit to West Ham's ambition but insists winning games will trump style.
The former Wolves boss addressed the media for the first time as the Hammers' new head coach yesterday replacing David Moyes, who brought success despite groans from the stands over his defensive approach.
And while Lopetegui wants his team to be front-footed, he admits that the top priority is results.
"The style always is to be able to help you to win, that is the most important thing," he said.
"We want to be able to have the initiative, to be aggressive with the ball. This is what we will try.
"But my aim as a coach is for my team to understand what's happening in each moment and have the right answers.
