Important to help keep young dreams alive
The Herald
|March 26, 2025
I HAVE always been a dreamer, with eyes drifting to the distant horizon. Curiously, the distant horizon still seems a long way off! Perhaps that is the nature of dreams and distant horizons.
-
A few weeks ago, a friend sent me a manuscript to read. He has written an autobiography and wanted me to read through it and comment.
It is a good read and made me think about my own life. He is a couple of years younger and so many of his memories ignited long hidden events in my own life.
I have forgotten so much, lost touch with so many, and these days seem to find myself in a sort of memory fog. Perhaps that is the nature of being a septuagenarian, still wandering along that proverbial pilgrim trail, toward the distant horizon.
There is a point, for most of us, where the dreamer mindset changes from what I might be, to what I might have been. Those fanciful thoughts of the young are replaced with the reality of life.
