A FEMALE “lumberjill” has denied accusations that she is behind Plymouth’s infamous tree massacre.
Jessica D’Aquino, 31, is helping to smash male stereotypes of the lumberjack and, as director of Lumberjill Milling, works all around the city.
She says she has had to chop down constant rumours she was involved in the scandal that saw hundreds of trees flattened in Plymouth city centre in the middle of the night last month.
Jessica owns and operates a mobile sawmill and timber yard on Lee Mill industrial estate, near Ivybridge.
She said she is facing accusations of involvement with last month’s Armada Way tree-felling on a daily basis – but she added cutting down trees unnecessarily was not something she would ever have done.
