Lee Hobbs' side dominated from virtually the first minute until the last at Bolitho Park, but the Coppers completed the ultimate smash and grab raid with a goal on the counterattack just a minute after half-time to seal a somewhat undeserved win.
Tomorrow, Parkway have the chance to put things right as they welcome Harrow Borough to Bolitho Park for the last of four successive home games.
"How they held on for as long as they did, I'll never know," Hobbs said. "Half-time came and the message at the break was simple: Don't drop your intensity, go and get after them, do exactly what you have just done again - it was our best performance of the season by a country mile.
"Then, 60 seconds into the second half, they score a soft goal and then they defended for their lives. They were really organised, well coached, they gave the ball up and had no interest in playing football. They came to do what they done, which was to defend for their lives, play on the counter-attack and when an opportunity arrives, take it and hold on.
