PLYMOUTH Argyle boss Steven Schumacher is among the early favourites to take over as manager of Swansea City as the Welsh outfit seek a replacement for the outgoing Russell Martin.
Martin looks set to be appointed the new manager of relegated Premier League side Southampton with the two clubs said to have agreed a compensation package of £400,000 for his services.
Schumacher's name was also touted for the Saints job, but after their relegation to the Championship - where they will play the Pilgrims next season, following Argyle's promotion and League One title success - it seems they have plumped for former MK Dons boss Russell instead.
The 37-year-old has a growing reputation in the game for being one of the country's brightest up and coming young managers after enjoying relative success in his career so far.
