PLYMOUTH Tories are urging Plymouth City Council to get on with filling the city’s potholes – and want to know if and when the much-anticipated Velocity “ultimate” pothole repair machine is going to be in action.
The council has borrowed one of the machines for six months but it has yet to be seen on the city’s roads and the Conservatives, who obtained it before losing power, are anxious to see it put to work.
The Tory group has tabled a motion for today’s full council meeting asking the Labour administration to explain how it intends to ramp up pothole-filling and give an update on the Velocity technology.
Labour’s Cllr Tudor Evans, the council’s new leader, made “having fewer potholes” one of his six key priorities when he took office.
