STEVEN Schumacher has thanked James Wilson for 'all his hard work and commitment' after it was confirmed the defender will be leaving Plymouth Argyle this summer.
Schumacher added the 34-year-old would 'forever be a part of the history of this football club' after being a key part of the League One title-winning squad last season.
Wilson made a total of 37 starts and four substitute appearances as the Pilgrims held off the challenges of Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday in a thrilling race for top spot and automatic promotion.
Out of contract this summer, Wilson was offered a new deal to extend his stay at Argyle but the deadline for that has now expired.
As a result, the offer has been withdrawn and Wilson will be playing elsewhere next season while Argyle return to the Championship for the first time in 13 years.
