With yet another year drawing to an end and a whole new year setting in, various stakeholders of the country's real estate sector are looking at how the year gone by played out for them and more importantly how does the new year look to be, what are the promises?
Speaking to The Statesman, Sushil Mohta, Chairman, Merlin Group & President, CREDAI, West Bengal, shares his perspectives on these.
Excerpts:
Q: How was 2024 for Bengal, in general, and the Kolkata market, in particular, as far as real estate sector is concerned--both residential and commercial?
Mohta: The year 2024 has been a pretty good year for the overall economy and Real Estate sector riding high on the growing demand, economic growth overall prosperity and growing disposable income in the hands of middle class.
The year has witnessed record registration in residential projects till the stamp duty waiver was there.
Rera has been a huge differentiator, this has consolidated the market, buyers are more confident in investing as they see their protection!
