NOT ENOUGH

EGYPT'S border with Gaza was opened yesterday, but only a trickle of aid was allowed into the Strip to help millions of Palestinians caught up in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

As the aid effort - believed to be limited to just 20 trucks of supplies got underway, chaos reigned over the fate of more than 200 hostages.

Yesterday was the first time any help had reached Gaza since October 7, when the war began.

Israel had sealed off the Rafah crossing after the Hamas massacre triggered the conflict.

Meanwhile, hundreds of foreign passport holders were waiting to cross from Gaza into Egypt to escape the violence.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak last night said: "The reopening of the Rafah crossing into Gaza is testament to the power of diplomacy."
