PUTIN ARMY OF SLEEPER SPIES IN UK

RUSSIA has an army of thousands of sleeper agents operating in Britain, a former intelligence officer says.

The spies are believed to have been targeting military sites on behalf of Kremlin tyrant Vladimir Putin for years.

The claim comes days after it was revealed that police have arrested three suspected Russian spies in Britain.

Moscow's moles are believed to be blending into British life by working in routine jobs such as computer technicians.

Colonel Phil Ingram, an ex-British Army intelligence officer, said the spies would be focusing their surveillance on army bases and military research establishments.

He said: "The number of Russian agents in the UK will be big - certainly hundreds and could well be in the thousands.

"It's likely that there will be concentrations of spies in London.
