Bajrang Punia defended his title at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Friday, clinching the gold medal in the 65kg weight category. This is Bajrang’s third consecutive medal at the Games. The Olympic bronze medallist (Tokyo 2020) earlier one won a silver in 2014 and a gold in 2018. “Desh ke liye medal jeetke humesha khushi hoti hai,” he said about his latest achievement at a press conference on Friday. “It feels great to repeat 2018, and to (overcome) the shortcomings I faced after the Olympics and the injury. We worked on it and that showed,” he added, as he walked us through his preparations and winning moment at the Games.
