Hyderabad: Telangana urban development and industries minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday urged Union minister for housing and urban affairs Hardeep Singh Puri to fund the state government's prestigious 100% sewage treatment project, pegged at ₹8,684 crore. He urged the Centre to bear one-third of the project cost, which comes to ₹2,850 crore, under Amruth-2 scheme.
KTR, who met Puri in Delhi, also sought aid to set up an innovative Personal Rapid Transit Systems (PRTS), which envisages a 10km ropeway transit from Assembly Metro station to Paradise Metro station to act as a feeder to the existing Metro rail and MMTS. Such a facility is operational at Heathrow airport, London.
