Hyderabad: The state government’s shift to the e-route to issue birth and death certificates — aimed to eliminate dependence on touts — has led to a new crisis: Glaring errors in documents. In fact, sources say that grievances relating to such erroneous death and birth certificates has been flooding MeeSeva centers across Hyderabad.
In one such major goof-up, the parents of a newborn girl was issued a death certificate instead of a birth certificate, about two months ago. The incident that took place in the Secunderabad zone left the parents fuming and senior officials of the GHMC, red-faced.
There are numerous such cases where people have been made to run from pillar to post to rectify mistakes.
