Hyderabad: Now, vehicles found parked on city roads, disrupting the flow of traffic, will not just be fined, but also towed away immediately.
This will be done as part of Hyderabad police’s new initiative, Removal of Obstructive Parking and Encroachments (ROPE), that’s been rolled out to arrest the severe problem of traffic congestion plaguing Hyderabad.
Announcing this on Thursday, Hyderabad police commissioner C V Anand said that a slew of measures are being implemented for better traffic management given that the city has seen an 18% rise in vehicular density between 2019 and 2022. At present total count of vehicles plying on Hyderabad roads stands at 77.6 lakhs (approx).
