New Delhi: With foreign and Indian institutions reaching out to partner in offering twinning programmes and dual/ joint degrees, and talks with some foreign universities now at advance stages for setting up campuses in the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT-City), Gandhinagar, the University Grants Commission has set up a committee to work on regulations pertaining to recognition and equivalence of degrees obtained from foreign institutions. So far the equivalence has been decided by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) on a case-to-case basis. A four-member committee set up by the UGC will submit the report by the end of this month which will then be shared in the public domain for feedback.
