This technique won't work for every image. However, in this one, there was already bright sunlight behind our subject. Here, we could add more convincing 'light leaks' and flare than if it had been shot on an overcast day

Blending Modes Alter the way pixels on each layer interact with those on the layers below

Transform Tool Resize and reshape layers to be blended with free or guided transformation handles 

Layer Opacity Either work with brushes at low Flow, or reduce Opacity to lessen the effect intensity

1 GETTING STARTED 

Choose your image for the effect, and open it in Photoshop. If you're coming directly from Lightroom, select the Edit in > Adobe Photoshop option and tick the 'Edit a Copy With Lightroom Adjustments' box so that you retain the original image.
