ZF BRINGS NIKON'S RETRO STYLE TO FULL-FRAME

New model blends the best of Nikon's modern tech with old-school looks

Nikon has announced the Nikon Zf, finally adding a full-frame model to its vintage-inspired range of digital cameras. It follows the APS-C Nikon Z fc, which was released in 2021, and which by Nikon's account has been a huge success.

The market has shown a clear appetite for cameras with retro styling and manual dials aping the design of old-school film cameras like Nikon's own FM2, which still remains a popular choice for film fanatics today.

Among design cues taken from the FM2, the Nikon Zf has larger dials made of brass, and a fully magnesium alloy metal body with an artificial leathercovered grip. It also features a leaf shutter to replicate that nostalgic film-camera shooting experience.

Inside, though, the camera is packing some of Nikon's latest tech as found in the Z8 and Zg. The Zf has a 24.5MP FX (full-frame) sensor, which is paired with the Expeed 7 processor found in the Z8 and Zg, which Nikon says offers improved autofocus algorithms, more file types, better in-camera vibration reduction, a higher max ISO of 64.000, and better video.
