Sandipan Dutta
Sandipan Dutta loves scuba diving in the magnificent coral reefs and open seas, and taking images of wonderful marine species. For him, underwater photography is a very immersive experience. He strongly believes that visual imagery has a great role to play to inspire people to care for the oceans which are under severe threat due to climatic changes and other destructive human activities. He hopes that underwater images will help raising awareness about the rich diversity of the earth's marine environments and the dependence of humankind on the ocean.
Sandipan stays in Bangalore with his wife and an eleven-year old daughter.
Photography is a journey of endless exploration, and what better way to explore our planet than pursuing underwater photography!
About 71% of our planet’s surface is covered with water, and below the surface of the water lies a mystic realm of a biodiverse kingdom that’s just spectacular.
Whether it’s exploring the vibrant coral reefs, searching for exquisitely colourful small marine species in the sandy seabed, or swimming with large marine mammals like whales and dolphins in the open sea, a myriad of opportunities lies in various underwater habitats for wideangle and macro photography.
Taking images underwater is an immersive experience. It’s equally satisfying to illuminate and educate our viewers about the lesser known yet magnificent inhabitants of our oceans through our images.
