The 37-year-old came through the ranks to take the reins in early 2020 and led the U's to promotion in his first full season in charge. He has since maintained the club's third tier status, but believes there is still plenty more for him to achieve.
"I am so pleased to have signed a new longterm contract with this great club," he told the club website.
"Everyone knows how much Cambridge United means to me and I am really excited by our potential.
"Our mindset is to keep moving forwards and making progress, and whilst our progress in recent years has been fairly rapid, we all believe that much more can lie ahead for us.
