The Greek island of Corfu has a long and rich history - and its royals are linked with ours!

Holiday Like A KING

The King's father Prince Philip was born in Corfu in 1921 so it's no wonder Charles has such an affinity with the Greek island.

The King and Queen Consort have visited Corfu a number of times and with sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and scorching hot temperatures, this is a holiday spot everyone should visit.

Corfu's rich history is on full show in the Liston area of Old Town. The Statue of Sir Frederick Adam and the Palace of St Michael and St George are just a couple of the magnificent cultural highlights found on the island. The Palace was previously used by the Greek Royal Family for state occasions but now houses the Corfu Museum of Asian Art.

Spianada Square lies in the heart of the Old Town and is the perfect spot for a picnic. This giant square is the largest on the island and lined with coffee shops, so you won't be hard pressed to find a beverage! Look for the Music Pavilion in Spianada as it hosts talented musical guests there every summer. Whether it's a concert by the philharmonics or a fabulous festival, there is something for every music lover.

Liston isn't the only hotspot on the island. Corfu is filled with ancient churches so it would be a shame not to visit at least one.
