Cut the cost of your mobile phone
WOMAN - UK|March 02, 2024
With mobile tariffs expected to shoot up by around 7.8% this spring, now is the time to start thinking about slashing your costs. Last year, a number of providers already hiked their prices by over 17%, so you may already find your bill is much higher than what you originally started out with.
Cut the cost of your mobile phone

All of the major players, BT, EE, Plusnet, TalkTalk, Three, Shell and Vodafone, are expected to increase their prices. So, if you’re not tied to a contract, switching deals could save you money.

ARE YOU OUT OF CONTRACT?

If you’ve been on the same deal for at least two years or more, then you’re almost certainly out of contract and can save money by switching contracts or provider. Most phone contracts are 12, 18 or 24 months, but if you are mid-contract, then you may face an exit fee to leave your provider early. To see if you could be charged an early termination fee, text ‘INFO’ to 85075 for free.

HERE’S HOW TO SWITCH

You no longer have to call your provider to move. Simply text ‘PAC’ for free to 65075 and you will be sent a porting authorisation code, which enables you to keep the same number with another provider. If you want to change numbers, text ‘STC’ to 75075 for free. Pass this code to your new provider within 30 days. You only need to do this if you are switching providers. If you’re staying with the same one, you can simply call your provider to move to a different deal.

Get moving to beat that low mood

Look, I know it's November. The days are shorter (like our patience) and darker (like, sometimes, our mood) and moving our body gets pushed further down the must-do list. We hunker down and become insular.
