The Block Australia hosts Shelley and Scott reveal this season's going to be a monster!

The problem with making one of television's most successful programmes is that you then have to make it better, says The Block Australia presenter Scott Cam.

And after 17 seasons of what is easily one of the most popular reality shows here and across the ditch, that's exactly the dilemma he and the Block team faced when preparing for the latest series.

They decided the answer was to go big - very big - with 28 hectares of farmland in the Macedon Ranges, 55km north of Melbourne, where each of the five teams will be allocated a reno-ready historic home with new pavilion extensions that bring the floor size up to around 500m² per build.

Then they'll have four hectares of the garden to landscape any way the contestants want, with some even including tennis and basketball courts, vineyards, dams and a creek.
