Celebrate food, culture, literature and more at some of the UK's most exciting events this year
LYTHAM 1940s WARTIME FESTIVAL
Lancashire

This weekend turns the clock back 80 years as thousands of visitors dressed in wartime fatigues and civvies descend on Lytham St Annes. With period cars and aircraft, re-enactments and living history talks, as well as music and memorabilia, it's the place to laugh, dance and soak up the spirit of the 1940s. This year features performances by a George Formby tribute act, plus the vintage harmony trio The Bluebirds.

Scottish Wild Food Festival
Tir na nOg, Stirling
If you love to get back to nature, head to this alternative food foraging fest. Set amid some incredible scenery on the edge of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the event is dotted with dining experiences, nature walks and cocktailmaking. There's also music, workshops, forest trails and a wild food marketplace. Each day ends with a 'wild banquet' that offers menus packed with seasonal, foraged ingredients.
