MOKE IS A TIME CAPSULE

The Alex Issigonis-designed Mini Moke was originally intended for military use as a lightweight, go-anywhere vehicle that could be dropped by parachute. On test it failed, mainly due to its small wheels and low power, so it was repurposed for recreational use. In this form it was produced from 1964-'68, with 14,518 cars made at Longbridge. It was also built in Australia and Portugal.

FIRST HRG IS ALMOST FINISHED

One of Britain's most endearing sports cars is 90 years old in 2025, and its very first prototype is reemerging after a protracted mechanical overhaul.
