Highlights of Auto Today November, 2024 issues:
This issue of Auto Today is out and filled with First Drives, First Rides and exciting features. Our cover highlights the most revolutionary, cutting-edge electric vehicles from an Indian manufacturer, the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e. Not only are these electric-origin SUVs, but also designed in a manner that we have only seen from global manufacturers, and to that effect, the BE 6 is also the fastest made in India SUV, with a 282bhp motor at the rear. Our Ed also flew to the United States for the LA Test Drives, part of the World Car of The Year Awards, and witnessed the unveiling of the new Hyundai flagship, the electric Ioniq 9, which you can read all about in the Top Story. We have also previewed the Honda Activa:e and QC1, first electric scooters from Indiaâs leading and most trusted scooter brand, and if these products which are late to the market can dislodge the early adopters in the market. The Refreshed section has the Nissan Magnite, a minor update meant to help the subcompact SUV soldier on for a few more years. Continuing our Heritage Drive series with Hyundai, we set out with the new Hyundai Creta to explore the kaleidoscope of flora and fauna for the latest instalment, heading to Ranthambore, the most prominent of the National Parks in India. Like every year, the Milan Motorcycle Show, or EICMA as it is commonly referred to, brought motorcycle enthusiasts from all around the world to the Italian city of Milan, and Rahul visited all the exhibits, which for the first time were dominated by products from Indian brands. Once again, we head to the CoASTT racetrack in Coimbatore, to test out the radial tyres from Reise as well as their global standard riding gear. The First Ride section contains the new Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350, a slightly different take on the brandâs most popular offering in the country. We also rode the new Pulsar N125, which fattens up the Pulsar lineup even further, but more importantly houses a new engine and a fresh design take and the Triumph Speed T4, a more accessible version of Triumphâs best seller in India. The long-term section bids adieu to the Hyundai Exter, which served us faithfully for a year and countless kilometres, while we introduce the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, which will spend two months in our garage. Two new bikes join the fleet, the Hero Mavrick 440 and the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, while we have monthly reports on the Maruti Suzuki Swift, BMW iX and the Tata Nexon. The Update section has all the updates on cars, bikes and motorsport from the automotive world. Enjoy this issue of Auto Today, and do not forget to belt up when in a car, and wear a helmet when on a two-wheeler.
