Inspired by the spirit of the community, Architect M M G Samuel has revived schools in the Ampara district through innovative architecture, using different planes and vibrant colours. The architecture aims to bring hope not only to the students but also to the entire community thus signifying a new beginning in their lives.
The Architectâs vision for a place that conveys cheer and a fresh outlook for young minds, results in a Primary School that crosses the boundaries of a conventional school building.
Focusing on the needs of differently-abled people, Architects Amila De Mel and Samanthi Samarasinghe strive to create a holistic community by concentrating on the little details that make a house a home.
Timeless in design and structure, the Heritance Ahungalle formerly known as the Triton was badly damaged by the tsunami that swept through Sri Lankan shores in December 2004. Working on the belief that any building is a resource where thought and energy has been spent, Archt. Channa Daswatte restored The Triton, Ahungalla, to its former glory while bringing change to suit the future.
Glimpses into events that shaped a professional in the hand weaving textile industry - Chandramani Thenuwara.
