Students are in the news. The Deer Isle-Stonington High School Class of 2024 graduates, and eighth grade students at the elementary school are promoted to high school. The Maine Department of Transportation holds a public meeting to share its draft design for the Deer Isle and Little Deer Isle causeway rebuild project. MDOT's plan is to build up about 3 feet, mostly on the existing footprint. Some Islanders feel that won't be enough. And, at the old American Legion Hall in Sunset, music and more is set to return.
